Chilli with meat

Saute together:

  • ☆1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • ☆1/2 large onion, chopped
  • ☆1 clove garlic
Drain fat and add:
  • ☆1 Tablespoon of cumin
  • ☆1 Tablespoon of basic chili powder
  • ☆1 Teaspoon of white granulated sugar
  • ☆1 Teaspoon of salt
  • ☆1/2 Teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ☆1/2 Teaspoon of chipotle powder (or other hot chili powder)
  • ☆1/2 Teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Continue cooking mixture a few more minutes to warm spices. Then add:

  • ☆28 Oz can tomato puree
  • ☆1 14-15 Oz can fire roasted diced tomatoes
  • ☆3 14-15 Oz cans of any kind of beans (black, pinto, kidney, charros) drained and rinsed
  • ☆2 Cups of water or chicken broth
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 1-2 hours. Put the lid on, but vented a bit for steam to escape. Stir occasionally and add additional water or broth if chili gets too thick. Dont let it scorch on the bottom of the pan. Serve with cilantro, shredded cheese, sour cream and salsa.

Apple pie

Ingredients

  • ☆ 4 cups of flour for the dough
  • ☆ 3/4 cups of sugar for the dough
  • ☆ 300 grams of butter, cold, for the dough
  • ☆ 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence for the dough
  • ☆ 1 egg for the dough
  • ☆ 2 spoons of butter for the filling
  • ☆ 6 peeled apples cut in cubes for the filling
  • ☆ 1/4 of brown sugar for the filling
  • ☆ 1 spoon of cinnamon for the filling
  • ☆ 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom for the filling
  • ☆ 1 egg to glaze the pie
Preparation
  • ☆ preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • ☆ For the dough: put all ingredients in a food processor and blend until even, knead lightly and let it rest in the fridge for 10 minutes
  • ☆ Extend the dough with the help of a rolling pin and place on a mould for the pie, previously greased and floured, cut off the excess dough and save it for later for the top of the pie.
  • ☆ On a pan in medium heat, heat up some butter and fry the apple slices, add the brown sugar and cook for 5 minutes or until most of the liquid has been reduced. add the cinnamon and cardamum. let it cool and set aside.
  • ☆Fill up the mould with the apples and cover it with some braiding pattern on top with the leftover dough, glaze with the egg and bake from 40 to 45 minutes or until the dough looks gold and crispy. plate and enjoy.
Honestly tried this recipe and even though i didnt fully follow the recipe it was really damn good, 10/10 would bake again.

Ingredients

  • ☆1 can of condensed milk
  • ☆1 can of evaporated milk
  • ☆half a cup of lemon juice
  • ☆A packet of plain biscuits
Put everything but the biscuits inside a food processor and blend for a couple seconds, taste the mix to make sure it doesnt need more lemon juice or isnt way too sweet. On a glass recipient place the biscuits in a way they cover the whole bottom evenly then pour the mixture, repeat with the biscuits and mix by layering it until all the mix is gone. then place the recipient inside the fridge to chill for at least 3 hours, it'll be ready to serve when its not liquidy at all, should have a pudding like consistency.
